Memoorymoog was the last Moog, made near the end of golden analog era in early eighties. It became a legend and one of the most wanted analog synthesizers only a
decade after it was concieved. With its 6 voice polyphony, it was supposed to be "the pack of 6 Minis", with architecture that really followed the outlines given by the creator
of Minimoog, Bob Moog. So, there are three oscillators per voice, where VCO2 and VCO3 pitch could be set (tuned) separately, and VCO3 can serve as an LFO generator.
Following the trends of that time, VCOs were not made in discrete form (transistors and low scale integration chips on PCB), but instead the CEM (Curtis Electric Music)
chips were used. Luckily, the filters are original Moog ones -- four pole LPF (24 dB per octave Low Pass Filter), so that in this most important aspect of the sound,
Memorymoog does resemble its famous predecessors. And, it's good to mention that many of the available functions are slightly improved, some new features are added, etc.
And don't forget that all your synthesis work can be easily saved in one of the 75 memories. You can also organize program chains (quite innovative for that time).
Put all together, this makes the Memorymoog one of the biggest analog synths today, with a price that will hardly be going down. It will not be only a new expensive and
excellent sounding synth in your studio, but also a true collector's investment.
